About Us
A little background about our contract and the work we do

BAE Systems, Submarine Solutions and its predecessor companies have been supporting the CC&S equipment fitted to Trafalgar and Vanguard class submarines since October 1996. In that period we have been proud to moved from a reactive and arms lenght detached organisation supplier to an intelligent, pro-active and partnered team, who take a positive pride in their ability to support the Fleet. In the 10 years that we have held the CC&S contracts, we have:

  • Reduced the overhead of running the contract by £35k in 2004/5 and £30k in 2005/6, through innovative contracting
  • Introduced an active planning regime, allowing costs to be identified and managed to meet budgets.
  • Reduced the bureaucracy and administration load on the customer (NP-NPSMCCS), by combining TMaSS and CC&S Management
  • Built a first-class reputation with all CC&S stakeholders
  • Submarine Solutions, in previous guises, has been supporting TMaSS since Dec 1985 when it was appointed Prime Contractor for the TMaSS design and build
  • We now hold the contract to support, In-Service, the Astute Class CCC Panels and associated equipment.  The Astute support aspect of this contract does not support the Platform Management System (PMS).

Dear Stuart

Please would you pass on thanks to Andy Dunning and his TMaSS NT team.
They recently finished an upgrade on BN06 under very tight conditions.
They remained flexible after a number of programme changes during PRTs and eventually were given a "late slot" to do the work. They started at 20:00 on Thursday 26th June (the team had been ready to go at 12:00) and finished in the early hours of Friday. This kind of flexible commitment was very much appreciated as it allowed the rest of the PRT programme to proceed unhindered. To put it in the overall context of the LOP(R) programme BN06 moved to the sea wall for fast cruise trials on the same Friday.

Best Regards
Richard Harrop
